• 1.0 out of 5 stars from Amazon Customer -- Difficult to get through in 2021 : With words like “unhandsome Indians” “pagan Saulteaux” “red faces” “red children” and more problematic language, it is difficult to get through this book without feeling disgusted. At its core though, I believe it is trying to bridge two worlds. The author was a Methodist missionary living in the 1800’s and it shows. for indigenous stories, I suggest going to the source or modern retellings. Would not recommend this book.
